Udaloy class BPK-619 "Severomorsk" completed maintenance, a temporary assignment to the Baltic Sea and returned to the Northern Fleet, 23 March 2025
Russian Navy Northern Fleet Pr.1155 Udaloy class large anti-submarine destroyer BPK-619 “Severomorsk” departed the Baltic Sea, PM 13 March 2025 and rendezvoused with the returning “Syria Express” group, comprising Russian Navy Baltic Fleet Pr.775/II Ropucha class BDK-110 “Alexandr Shabalin” MV Sparta IV and MV Siyane Severa, north of Guernsey during the evening 16 March for escort through the English Channel and North Sea.

BPK-619 ceased escort of BKD-110, MV Sparta IV and Siyane Severa in the central North Sea during the forenoon, 19 March and commenced return transit to the Northern Fleet and was noted to have arrived in homeport Severomorsk by 23 March.

BPK-619 entered the Baltic sea back in July 2023 and following participation in Navy Day and escort duty for the inaugural deployment of newly commissioned Black Sea Fleet Pr.20380 class missile corvette SKR-734 “Merkuriy”, completed a 14-month docked-down maintenance period at Khronstadt Marine Plant (KMP) from September 2023 to November 2024. Russian Northern Fleet ASW destroyer operating in the Baltic Sea
Russian Navy Northern Fleet Pr.1155 Udaloy class large anti-submarine destroyer BPK-619 “Severomorsk” completed a 14-month docked-down maintenance period at Khronstadt Marine Plant (KMP) from September 2023 to November 2024 and departed for post maintenance sea trials in the Gulf of Finland, late November 2024.
Outlook
With BPK-619 having returned to Severomorsk it is likely she will formally rejoin the Russia Navy Northern Fleet 2nd Surface Ship Division comprising BPK-605 “Admiral Levchenko”, BPK-626 “Admiral Kulakov” and BPK-650 “Admiral Chabanenko” (which is undergoing modernisation at the 35th Ship Repair Yard in Murmansk) by mid-April.
Having already conducted K2 training in the Baltic Sea it is likely BPK-619 will commence K3 operational training in the Barents Sea during the annual Spring training programme and is a strong contender for deployment in the annual summer Arctic campaign on the Northern Sea route with a Northern Fleet BDK and ice-class auxiliary unit. Alternatively, on completion of K3 training BPK-619 could deploy more widely relieving, or taking on the tasking of, a Pr.22350 class missile frigate.
